Our Project Requirements
We don’t work with everyone. We like to form long term partnerships, and it is important that we get along and are able to work well together.
You Have Goals
Its not the most exciting of statements, but clear goals are crucial. If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll have no idea if you’ve arrived and when you get there. Without clear goals, or if you’re not prepared to work with us to define them, it’s not the right time to start a new project.
You Have an Audience
Building an audience through blogging, podcasting, interviews, white papers, presentations, speaking and education is the only way to generate new customers online. You should be prepared to build one, if you don’t have an audience already.
You Have Passion
Building an audience online is hard work and it takes time. Passion is the fuel you need to keep going when all the chips are down and you feel like you’re smashing your head against a brick wall. If you’re not passionate about what you do, please step aside and watch the rest of us change the world.
You Have a Team
We don’t enjoy watching our clients meltdown so if you don’t have a team (or you aren’t prepared to build one) you’ll have a big job convincing us to take your project on. It could be as simple as a virtual assistant to help out a few hours a week or a full-fledged team, either way you’re going to need help.
Once we’ve establish your goals for this project, we get to work on determining the best to achieve them. This isn’t a passive project. Each project is unique, so we work in partnership to make sure the solution is correct for your business.
After we’ve devised the solution, we’ll plan out the timeline and begin executing. At this point we’ll provide you with a detailed list of content that’s necessary for your new website. We provide this information early on in the process to give you plenty of time to prepare – no one wants to launch a barren website.
At the start of each week, we’ll let you know what we are planning on achieving over the next five days. As the week ends, we’ll schedule a phone call with you to discuss what we’ve accomplished and to answer any questions we have for one another. Every few weeks we’ll do a full review of the work completed so far and give you a formal opportunity to request modifications or changes in scope.
Two to three weeks before launch we begin a formal testing period. While we’re testing your website throughout the development process, it’s key to have a period of time where debugging is the sole focus – there are some bugs that just can’t be squashed until examined under a high-powered microscope.
All that hard work has finally paid off and it’s time to launch the website. Before we press the big, red button we run your website through our pre-launch checklist to ensure that your website is 100% ready to start accomplishing your goal. For the three weeks after your website has officially gone live, we’ll pay close attention to your website to make sure it is running smoothly and to fix any bugs that might crop up.
After launch we’ll put you on our maintenance plan. Websites are complex so it is important to have a team experts keeping a watchful eye on your shiny new website. We’ll make sure your website is always running the latest and most secure versions of WordPress, and we’ll keep your website backed up, just in case disaster strikes. And we give you an easy way to contact us for support or general questions about your site.
So all your hard work and money is not for naught, we’ll schedule a review of your website three months and six months after completion to make sure your website is accomplishing your goals. We’ll also install and configure a few analytics tools so we can make sure we make data-driven decisions at our follow-up meetings.
